Visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art
|
Each time I get to NYC, I make sure that a visit to the MET is included on the itinerary. Also, a list of things to see is completed long before leaving Australia. Like the other great galleries of the world, it is easy to be overwhelmed by the amount of works on display. 'Planning' is the key to the challenge of 'TIME' and the internet makes these opportunities so much easier to organise. About 10 works per visit is enough for me before I am unable to keep focused. However, this is not the key to a successful and memorable visit tot he Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City! The key is this... while it is advisable to be prepared and have things organised... one should not miss the opportunity to just take some time to wander and browse, listen to the comments of others, stop for coffee... reflect on the moment... and then allow yourself to get lost in the building itself because you will find things you did not plan to see, experience moments that you will remember for the rest of your life and take in the true magnificence of the art at The MET... |
